USGS MIPS Tfrotscl Documentation

This program generates a transformation file which will rotate and/or scale an image to the desired specifications. The transformation file can then be input to the program GEOM in order to rotate/scale the image .

Files

This program requires as input one unsigned 8-bit , or one signed 16-bit  or one 32-bit  floating point image file and will produce a transformation file.

If the image contains projection labels  the labels will be updated using the desired scale and rotation and then transferred to the transformation file. When the transformation file is applied to the image using GEOM, the projection labels will be transferred to the rotated/scaled image.

Parameters

ROTATION

This parameter defines the rotation in degrees that should be applied to the image. The default is 0 which will not rotate the image. Positive angles rotate the image counter-clockwise and negative angles rotate the image clockwise.

SCALE

This parameter defines the scale factor which should be applied to the image. The default is 1, which will not scale the image. Values greater than one will increase the size of the image and values less than one will decrease the size of the image.

Examples

Landsat MSS Band 6 before rotation.

[Example Image]

Landsat MSS Band 6 with 45 degree rotation. This image is the result of running TFROTSCL to generate the transformation file and then using the transformation file as input to the program GEOM.
