USGS MIPS Mipserr Documentation

This program displays information on the errors output by any MIPS program not using the graphical user interface. In other words, if a user attempts to run a MIPS program (while in nonGUI mode) and the program cannot execute, the program outputs an error message to the user. Error messages follow the format:

status_progname_errmsg,message
where errmsg and message are the abbreviation and brief explanation of the error encountered, respectively. If the brief explanation does not aid in solving the problem, the user can run this program to get further information.

Examples

For example, lets say we attempt to run the MIPS program EXPORT

>> export

PARAMS>gif
FILES>myimage
WARNING_export_MISSEQU, FILES command line is missing an equal sign
FILES>exit
by typing the following

>>mipserr missequ
The currently configured web browser will be displayed with further information on the given error.
