USGS MIPS List Documentation

This program creates in the print file  a listing of DN  values from any window or sub-area of an image .

Files

This program requires as input one unsigned 8-bit , or one signed 16-bit  or one 32-bit  floating point image file. All information produced by LIST is written to the print file.

Parameters

SL, SS, NL and NS

These parameters define the sub-area of the input image to be written to the print file. The starting line and starting sample parameters define the upper left corner of the sub-area and have a default of one. The number of lines and number of samples define offsets to the lower right corner of the sub-area and default to the number of lines and samples in the image.

LINC and SINC

These parameters are used to subsample the input image in the line and sample directions. Linc and Sinc must be equal to or greater than one. Both parameters default to a value which will causes the window to be subsampled to fit on one 132 column by 50 line page.

Uses

LIST can be used as a programming aid for checking input and output DN values from programs, or as a tool for close examination of DNs.

Examples

Landsat MSS Band 6 followed by listing using the parameters SL=390, SS=123, NL=30, NS=14, LINC=1, and SINC=1. Note this listing is centered about the tip of SP Flow (i.e., the dark lava flow).
