USGS MIPS Histn Documentation

This program can be used to remove striping in an image  collected using a scanning sensor such as Landsat TM or Landsat MSS. For example, Landsat MSS collects six lines of image data per scan. Since the six sensors are not perfectly calibrated, striping appears in the images. This program corrects for this striping by obtaining six histograms , one for each sensor, and then creates a correction table for each of the sensors by normalizing the histograms.

Files

This program requires as input an unsigned 8-bit  image file and will produce an unsigned 8-bit image file. The following information is transferred from the input file to the output file(if appropriate):

Image labels
Mosaic labels
Projection labels
History  file

Parameters
